Mince meat Biryani
500g mince Beef/Lamb
4 Tomatoes chopped
3 onions sliced
Saffron soaked in 5 tbsp of milk.
1tsp chili powder, turmeric, cumin
2tsp Ground Coriander
3tsp garam Marsala
Pinch of black pepper
Garlic and ginger paste 1tbsp
Soak rice in water for 30 mins.
Soak pinch of saffron in milk for min 10mins
Fry onions in ghee/oil until golden brown, add mince meat fry until brown. Add garlic and ginger paste, fry 1 min. Add tomatoes cook 10 mins , keep adding a splash of water if it starts to stick. Add all the spices , saffron with milk and salt , cover and simmer for 15mins. Leave aside.
Boil rice until half cooked around 5 mins. Drain and put a layer of rice in a large saucepan with a lid. Then add the mince curry then the rest of the rice on top. Sprinkle some turmeric and saffron over the top then some fresh coriander and green chillies if you like. Cover tight with foil then put the lid on. Cook on low heat until steam starts to come out of the pan. Enjoy
