Goat Cooked In Pickling Spices

Goat Cooked in Pickling spices.

1.5 kg Goat on the bone

2 large onions sliced

1tbsp Garlic and ginger paste

1tsp turmeric

2 tsp Coriander Powder

2 tsp Cumin

1 tsp Kashmir red chilli powder

Salt to taste

4 large ripe tomatoes sliced

1tbsp of good Pickle. I used carrot pickle but any will do.

Spice mix ingredients

2 tsp chilli powder

4 tsp Coriander seeds crushed

1½ tsp turmeric

Tbsp mustard oil

2 tsp crushed Fenugreek seeds

1 tsp Cinnamon

½ tsp ground cloves

Water if needed.

Put 4 tbsp oil in a pan and fry onions until golden. Add garlic and ginger paste fry for 2 mins. Add the first lot of spices. Add splash of water to free it up, add goat mix well and cover for 15mins. Add tomatoes on top of goat and cover and cook for 1 hour. Add spice mix and Pickle more water if you want. Cover and cook until tender .
